(Spatio-Temporal Data Management and Analysis for Knowledge
Discovery Workshop)
CIKM 2026 – ROME, ITALY
https://gt-gast.irisa.fr/
Workshop description: Spatial, temporal, and spatio-temporal data are now central to many relevant applications, including mobility analytics, earth observation, environmental monitoring, maritime intelligence, healthcare trajectories, sensor platforms, geotagged text, and distributed information systems.
Yet research on these data remains fragmented across domains, while key challenges such as heterogeneous data integration, scalable management, uncertainty handling, privacy, robust evaluation, explainability, and reproducibility, are shared across applications.
This workshop dedicated to the management and analysis of spatial and temporal data across the full data lifecycle, from acquisition and integration to modeling, evaluation, and dissemination will bring together researchers and practitioners from data management, knowledge discovery, information retrieval, machine learning, and various application domains.
Organizing Team:
- Clément IPHAR, CRC / Mines Paris- PSL (Sophia Antipolis)
- Aurélie LEBORGNE, ICube / UNISTRA (Strasbourg)
- Nida MEDDOURI, LRE / EPITA (Paris)
- Loïc SALMON, ISEA / University of New Caledonia (Nouméa)
- Juba AGOUN, ERIC / ULL2 (Lyon)
- Assaad Zeghina, LATMOS (UVSQ / Sorbonne University)/ Inria (Paris)
- Nazha Selmaoui ISEA / University of New Caledonia (Nouméa)
Objectives: This workshop builds on the workshops held in previous years. One of the objectives is to bring together researchers from academia and industry. These researchers are interested in issues related to incorporating temporal or spatial information (quantitative or qualitative) into their data management and analysis processes (methods and applications for the extraction, management, representation, analysis, and visualization of information; learning and knowledge extraction from spatiotemporal data). The workshop provides an opportunity for a large number of researchers interested in these topics to present their research questions and approaches.
Workshop Topics (non-exhaustive list):
- spatial, temporal, and spatio-temporal data modeling and management;
- heterogeneous and multimodal geo-temporal data integration;
- trajectories, sensor data, sequence data, and streaming analytics;
- privacy, anonymity, and federated settings for geographically distributed data;
- uncertainty-aware and robust geo-temporal analytics;
- explainability and interpretability for spatial and temporal models;
- benchmarks, evaluation protocols, and reproducibility;
- applications in transportation, environment, maritime systems, healthcare, public safety, and digital humanities.
